COVID-19 Webinars and Resources

CanWaCH is working to support our members and partners as Canadians pull together to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. In our COVID-19 Resource Centre, you’ll find resources as well as past and upcoming webinars that focus on funding, operational and programming implications, mental health considerations and communications and messaging, among other topics.

Conversations with Canadians About Global Health During COVID-19

Join CanWaCH’s Public Engagement Working Group (PEWG) for a conversation about how our sector can strengthen and align our collective engagement with Canadians in global health and international development during COVID-19. Representatives from Global Affairs Canada will participate in this important conversation. CanWaCH is pleased to offer simultaneous translation in French and English for this webinar. Who is a healthcare worker making a difference in your life?

This week is #WorldHealthWorkerWeek! From midwives to doctors, frontline health workers are the backbone of every health system. We’re celebrating health workers this week with a series of videos commending their heroic efforts in keeping us safe and healthy. Check out the videos on Instagram, and join the conversation by telling us about a healthcare worker making a difference in your life or community!

Looking for educational games and activities? CanWaCH has compiled an Educational Guide to Canada’s Leadership in Global Health and Gender Equality. This guide features games and activities for a range of ages that have been developed by Canadian organizations working to advance global health and gender equality around the world.  Bookmark this page and check in frequently for our regular updates as more games and activities become available! Register for the RADAR Measurement Tool Training Series

Together with Johns Hopkins University, CanWaCH is pleased to be hosting a free 4-part online training series on select RADAR measurement tools. These tools have been developed as part of the Government of Canada’s initiative to improve accountability for its maternal and child health investments. Space is limited, so register early!

Call for Nominations: CanWaCH’s Public Engagement Working Group

Join CanWaCH’s Public Engagement Working Group (PEWG) to help build awareness of Canadian leadership in global health and gender equality! Submit your nomination by 5:00 pm EDT on Friday, April 10, 2020. If you have any questions, please contact Lauren Murray, Senior Public Engagement Officer. 

CanWaCH is also excited to announce that we are recruiting two youth delegates (18-24 years old) to participate on the PEWG! With a unique perspective as young leaders, these delegates will provide valuable insights and feedback for how CanWaCH and its members can better engage Canadian youth in our work. Submit your application by 5:00 pm EDT on Friday, April 10, 2020.

Call for Nominations: CanWaCH’s Stakeholder Engagement and Policy Working Group

CanWaCH’s Stakeholder Engagement and Policy Working Group (SEPWG) has also launched its call for nominations. SEPWG members inform and advise Canadian stakeholders about global health and gender equality! Submit your nomination by 5:00 pm EDT on Friday, April 10, 2020.
