Jane Goodall Institute of Canada

The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada is part of a global community conservation organization that advances the work of Dr. Jane Goodall, with a vision of a healthy planet where people live sustainably and in harmony with animals and a shared environment.

Working in ecologically sensitive zones in Africa (targeting chimpanzee habitats and protected areas for other wildlife conservation), JGI Canada partners with local government and civil society organizations to raise awareness of endangered species, while addressing community needs in essential health care, sustainabile livelihood, and WASH. JGI's approach of Community-Centred Conservation aims to improve the well-being of people, animals and the environment.

JGI Canada is currently implementing a 4-year Maternal, Newborn and Child Health project in the DRC, with funding from Global Affairs Canada.
