The 29th edition of IDW will be held from February 3-9, 2019, under the theme “Together for Gender Equality”. This theme embodies Canada’s commitment to the global effort to address gender inequality and encourages all Canadians to be change-makers in advancing gender equality in the world. Join our community of international development and humanitarian aid organizations in celebrating #IDW2019!

Global Health Conference 2019

The School of Population and Public Health, UBC and the Centre for International Child Health (CICH) at BC Children’s Hospital are co-hosting the inaugural Global Health Conference on January 24, 2019. 

The conference will examine how Canadian universities can be engaged in addressing challenges in global health equity within the overarching themes of “The Role of Institutions in Global Health” and "Implementing Innovation in Global Health". This event will bring together multidisciplinary expert speakers and panellists from across the greater UBC community and beyond including CanWaCH's Alli Bunting who will be speaking on a panel on "Implementing Innovation in Global Health" moderated by Mark Ansermino, Director, CICH. 

International Development Week at the National Arts Centre 

Join us for a special International Development Week event on February 5, 2019, from 12:00 - 5:00 pm at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa that will interactively showcase to visitors how Canadians are making a difference around the world. 

Celebrate #IDW2019 with music, spoken word, exhibits, workshops, and interactive activities for engaged people of all ages who care about gender equality and women's rights around the world. If your organization is interested in participating, please contact us
