Addressing perinatal depression among adolescents in Nigeria

Pregnant adolescents with perinatal depression face several hurdles to receiving the care they need. An implementation research team led by the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, has been working with health care providers to integrate mental health services at primary health care level to address perinatal depression and improve parenting skills.

Join CanWaCH to learn about what the research team has uncovered about the characteristics of adolescents with perinatal depression in Nigeria, how they are supporting pregnant women and adolescents in particular with perinatal depression and the lessons they are learning from this important initiative.

100 Days of a Pandemic: Canada's Evidence-Driven Global Response


June 17, 2020 - On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. This session spotlighted how Canadian development organizations have adapted and responded in the 100 days since the WHO’s declaration. 

During the session, CanWaCH launched its 100 days report and resource hub, which unpacks our sector’s journey in the face of the pandemic with a particular focus on data on how we’re adapting, what we still don’t know and what this means for our work going forward.

SMO Exchange - Sharing Lessons Learned

 

On April 2, 2020, CanWaCH hosted an interactive virtual exchange in partnership with Horizons of Friendship, Ethiopiaid Canada and the Ontario Council for International Cooperation (OCIC), with support from the Fund for Innovation and Transformation and Spur Change program. 2019 Public Opinion Research Results & Insights

 

August 2019 - Since 2015, CanWaCH has been undertaking public opinion polling focused on Canadians' perspectives and views on Canada's investment and leadership in global women and children's health and development aid.
